Wovoka’s Project Arawatan has been accepted into Intermediate Diligence in the Symbiosis Coalition’s reforestation and agroforestry program. This moves our Mindoro landscape proposal a step closer to offtake with one of the most credible buyer coalitions in nature-based carbon.
Symbiosis Coalition is an advance market commitment led by Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Salesforce that aims to contract up to 20 million tonnes of high-quality nature-based carbon removal by 2030. It aligns buyers around unified quality criteria, runs joint RFPs, and shares lessons to grow a trustworthy pipeline. For projects that pass diligence, members negotiate offtake directly.
The first RFP drew strong global interest. Public updates note a large applicant pool and a staged diligence process that narrows from intermediate to full diligence before any offtake decisions.
Intermediate Diligence signals that our submission cleared initial screening on quality, execution, and commercial fit. Symbiosis now evaluates deeper alignment with its quality bar and prepares a smaller set of projects for Full Diligence, which includes more intensive risk review and field validation.
For Arawatan, this validates the technical pathway we proposed for high-integrity reforestation in Mindoro, including MRV design and credit readiness. Our technical partner Kanop has supported eligibility checks and dynamic baselines to meet current standards and labels, strengthening the file through diligence.
We will continue to engage with the Symbiosis team, respond to information requests, and prepare for potential Full Diligence. In parallel, we will keep advancing field baselines and community engagement in Mindoro so the project is execution-ready when financing decisions follow.
